Validation

Before publishing new or updated skills, run:

python3 scripts/validate_manifests.py

To auto-fix a name field that doesn't match its directory name:

python3 scripts/validate_manifests.py --fix

The script checks every SKILL.md against the agentskills.io spec and validates all entries in manifests/skills-index.yaml.

Adding a new skill

  1. Create a directory under skills/<product>/<skill-name>/
  2. Add a SKILL.md with name matching the directory name
  3. Add an entry to manifests/skills-index.yaml
  4. Run python3 scripts/validate_manifests.py — fix any errors before publishing
